Strengths: Strengths include a low prevalence of obesity at 25.1 percent of the population, high immunization coverage with 81.8 percent of children ages 19 to 35 months receiving complete immunizations and low rates of deaths from cancer and cardiovascular disease at 184.6 deaths and 253.4 deaths per 100,000 population, respectively
Challenges: Challenges include a high incidence of infectious disease at 33.6 cases per 100,000 population, a high rate of uninsured population at 20.1 percent, a high violent crime rate at 689 offenses per 100,000 population and high geographic disparity within the state at 21.5 percent.
